I have been a birth assistant for 3 years now. I have been attending births for 8 years. I am a birth educator, breastfeeding consultant, support doula and soon to be midwife. Birth and birth education has become a BIG part of my life and carrier. I strongly believe you should be given all your options and know the risks/benefits. I myself know things change in labor.
After a year of infertility we decided to try IUI and got pregnant with our second round. I knew I wanted a midwife and to have the best experience! I wanted to do everything in my power to be all natural. I labored at home then transferred in. This was not how I planned but I'm glad it was something we talked about. I got to listen to my body and call what I wanted/felt and labored naturally on my own. My birth story is my own and I wouldn't trade any second of it. It unfolded just how it should. My daughter paved her own way.
